Andy,

Can you explain to me how your Lash things work? I keep hearing about them and so I skimmed the CSM dex but couldn't figure out what exactly it was...

Psychic power used in the shooting phase.
Needs line of sight, and has 24" range.
Sorcerer takes test - leadership 10.
Target unit can be moved 2d6" in any direction.
Difficult terrain is ignored but dangerous terrain tests must be taken as normal.
Impassable terrain is still impassible.
Target unit can be re-formed - for example models can be moved together to optimise template weapon hits.
Target unit coherency must be maintained.
Target unit cannot be moved into or out of combat.

More questions about Lash:
Can your Sorcerer run and still use it?
Can it be used from inside a vehicle with firing points?
Can it be used from inside a vehicle with firing points that moved more than 6"?
Can it be used from inside a vehicle that has no firing points?

No. It is used as a shooting attack.

Perhaps. If the vehicle is fast then yes. If not, then no.

No. It needs line of sight.

There is some debate on if it is a shooting attack or if it is a psychic attack used in the shooting phase.
I read it as above - but if you want to let me use it as well as my ordinary shooting phase I would be grateful!

Actually no embarked units can shoot from a vehicle that has moved at cruising speed whether the vehicle is fast or not. Only a fast vehicle can fire its weapons at cruising speed. (p.66 of small rulebook)

7000 splits easily - especially if it all has to be painted and wysiwyg.

My 7000 point Apocalypse army has five of them - so the average out at around 1400 points each. It is no coincidence that they are all around the cost of a regular 40k army.
Each datasheet represents a formation - and many of these formations represent whole armies with an HQ, a number of troops and a few specialists. If you take units outside of datasheet formations they are going to struggle to find their place on the battlefield.
The key to beating me will be to treat the datasheets in the same way as you would choices in your codex.

There is some behind the scenes discussion about what is going to round of the campaign. One of the suggestions is an Apocalypse battle on the 24th.
